X51 powerkit or not?

If the X51 was installed by the dealer (at least on a 996), they would have stamped an "S" onto the end of the engine serial number.

X51
I have a factory installed X51 in my 2010 4S. It did not come with a short shifter. I do love it. I drove several 4S's before driving this one. I is definitely an upgrade, especially if you have Sport mode. Sorry I can't help validate your situation.
Nice looking car!

Thanks for the color compliments, I've been told by buddies when driving it can even look iridescent in the sun. Sometimes it's almost a mirror too, I hope I never have to sell come my next upgrade P-car and she just becomes part of a collection. Once the Coronavirus pandemic is over I'll be calling the dealer to see if they installed the full x51 package including the heads in New York and I'll update the thread. Stay Healty!

Was gonna ask you what color your car is but read past the picture and you beat me to it. Suspected it was Atlas but it changes so much with the outside light it seems you can never be sure Sometimes it looks plain black which yours is close to in the picture except for some slight grey undertones. Probably my favorite Porsche color but hard to find on the pre-owned market. Never understood why it wasn't ordered in greater numbers The blend of black, dark blue and some grey is beautiful imo.

The headers you have are factory, but you need to measure the diameter of the tubing since the 3.6L uses the same tubing layout, only with smaller diameter.
Another way to tell us through the intake runners and plenum since the X51 has different cylinder heads. The X51 uses a single large oval aluminum plenum between the intake runners (pictured with red background below) whereas the non-X51 uses two individual black plastic plenums. The front piece being what some swap out for the aluminum IPD plenum.

A buddy had the X51 on a 997.1.... odd, when we put on the Durametric, it auto-selected as a turbo DME. In short, a dealer can hook up the Porsche computer and will know. It is more than headers etc... there is programing differences and the computer will pick it up (so I've been told). Someone may have bolted on some parts.... but not really the full X51.
Peace
