Cab
Don't bet on the area behind the soft top cover as real. I believe it's still masked.

the windshield is the same as the 996 - no major underpannel changes until the 998(?) or what ever the next version is. this is an interm model to tied us over until they can redesign it for real. Been spending too much on the "Other" car (4 model) lately to finance a true re-design.
As a lifetime Porsche fan/admirer, my hopes are with the future 998. I admit I feel a car is more about how it drives than looks, but the 911 has always had a look I admired to go along with it's capability. I haven't seen anything (admit all photos have camouflage) that has seemed more appealing than my current Carrera. Just my personal opinion.
I like the new interior shots, but the exterior is doing nothing for me. It looks like a step back. The 996 seems fresher and newer in design. Maybe when the last of the disguises come off it'll look better.
In the front of the 997, the top half looks like my 993, while the bottom half looks like my Cayenne S air intakes. The rear is just slightly revised 996. Where did all the designers go? Maybe Porsche can use some advise from Chris Bangle. (just kidding)
