Default What's this wire please ?

Trying to understand what this wire is on my 997.2 ? Alternator Cable ? Starter cable ? Is it normal that it's exposed so close to the elements on the road ?

Don't know as I don't have a .2, but it does look like your oil drain plug is leaking and discoloring your oil pan in that one area. As you drive, the air going by the drips are smearing them rearward. Need to install with a new crush washer at the next oil change or if those aren't working completely, don't tighten it more, and instead use a sealing washer which has a gasket bonded to it on both sides.

Appreciate the feedback. The image was purely a stock image from the web of another car similar to my undercarriage. Luckily, I dot have the oil discolouration issue.

Still a mystery to me as to what that wire represents and by searching the tech manual for a 997.2 4S, the engine diagrams of the pulley system area are not very helpful. This wire is just underneath the pulley system area of the engine.
