What are the obvious tell tale signs of making sure you get an oem wheel with an airbag that actually works when needed?
This packaging is not OEM. OEM wheels come is pink foam sleeve, with minimal padding otherwise.
Also, these paddles are not OEM.

There should be part numbers on all of the individual pieces inside the wheel. Buttons, trim pieces, wiring, modules, etc. The steering wheels themselves don't a global part number though.

Im not entirely sure if the Chinese are using OEM buttons, modules, wiring and trim on these wheels. They seem to have recreated the steering wheel metal frame/ring and are wrapping it in a variety of different ways.

The airbags are hard to tell. Sometimes I seen them where the plastic looks too coarse. Best bet is to buy a new airbag...

Yeah, I think the best bet is to just pony up and pay the P-car tax if you want OEM, but most importantly if you want an airbag that will function as designed not as imitated.

Is anyone familiar with 'Migmann'? They claim to use all OEM cores / airbags - and their prices are about 50% of new?

Those steering wheels appear to be OEM to me. They are all also used, hence the discount from new. Honestly not even discounted that much from new. You can easily find used OEM wheels on ebay for less.

Recovered 991 wheel with new airbag and rear cover to delete paddles. Also swapped the shifter and to a black surround to match.
