997 turbo lust

997 turbo lust
I've been lurking for some time and recently found a 997 turbo that looks way too good to be true. I'm trying to temper my excitement and remember if it sounds too good, it probably is. Anyway, it's time for some due diligence. Carfax and auto-check are clean, and pics look good (but who hasn't been burned like that).
The dealer is responsive, but also has created a few reasons to be cautious.
Regarding PPI, do you call the local Porsche dealer, or try to find an independent shop?
Anyone near Kansas City with insight, or willing to go kick the tires?
Thanks!

What makes you think it's too good to be true? Be sure to Google their address and see if you're talking to a legit dealer, a lot of the time the address points to some random cornfield or Bob's Used Cars lot in the midwest. Scammers often pull real photos/VINs from real listings to make the Carfax and Autocheck come up clean.

I try to type this out every chance I get. There really are no Turbos under $60k. I’ve been following them for years. Anything under $60k is usually a scam or has seriously issues.

Here's the build sheet of the car that's supposedly for sale: https://vinanalytics.com/car/WP0AD29967S783149/
The first thing that jumps out at me is that the car pictured above does not have PCCB. The build sheet says otherwise. Something's not right.

Mileage pushes them down into the $50s pretty regularly. Hard to move them once they hit 60k miles or so.

Just because someone bought a high mileage Turbo, or a Turbo with cosmetic issues under $60k does not mean it’s common. I’m guessing half a dozen Turbos sell for less than $60k a year. None of them are manuals and all of them will need significant TLC.

Uh mine was a manual and no it didnt need significant tlc. Just because you cant find them doesnt mean they dont exist

I hope I’m wrong and Turbos are going down in value. But I’ve been hoping that they’ll go down for years. Given the depreciation of the 991.2, over time, I could see tiptronics dropping to $50k. But it just hasn’t happened. In fact, when I first starting lusting after the Turbo they were about $5k less than they are now.

I've never had a scammer actually answer their phone, which is why I was hopeful it might be legit. But when I offered to show up with a duffle bag of cash in 6hrs and he turned me down (wire transfers only and then I'll ship you the car for free) I told him to kindly f*ck himself. Do people really fall for that move!?
