Not sure what model you have but the FVD doesn't fit a 3.8 engine. If it's going in an S car than that leaves the LNE or Mantis. Otherwise I'd go with the FVD.

Oh man. Good call. Thanks.

This is for 08 C2 S.

The downside to the mantis, is that you reuse the stock baffles.. but you get a windage tray. I don't think the LN has a windage tray, but includes improved baffling.

Perhaps both/either will be just fine...

neither do much of anything. I've watched my buddy's cayman S drop pressure in turns dramatically with the mantis, just like mine does with the LN style unit (its tune RS with EBS x51 style baffle to avoid the ire of LN). Hard to believe, but I don't see any of these offering much benefit.

Well that's comforting.... I guess I should purchase just in case? Or say, "Eff it" and take my chances?

I have the larger MantisSport version and the LN Stainless skid plate to protect it. Moves oil change refill volume from the previous 8-8.5 quarts to 10 quarts.

Thanks Petza, but I'm looking for the protection aspect. The additional oil is a bonus, but I really just want to track with proper tires and not worry about scavenging.

From the lack of responses, A) no one knows, B) it doesn't matter which version is used, C) my thread sucks.

Wanted to update my thread.

I ended up going with the LN 2qt deep sump. I guess its actually a Bit product. https://lnengineering.com/products/m...51-baffle.html
Install was super easy and straightforward.

Take this with a grain of salt, as its just my own experience, but under the following conditions: Bilt +2qt deep sump, Michelin PS4S, Xp-9, Third radiator, low temp thermostat, outside temps 90-97*, oil temps up to about 240* on the gauge, the oil pressure stayed where it should.

The track I ran was NCCAR, https://nccar.us/nccar-facilities/nc...ad-course.html, in both directions.

More oil = more cooling.

I run Mantis 1.2L + 3d radiator + NT01s + low temp thermostat + Motul 8100 (should switch to XP-9 or V-series) and essentially after 20-25 min I typically get ~ 245F on my OBDII. A bit too much so I pit, cool off and come back. It's just not enough cooling no matter what.
I am pushing it but trying staying on higher gear to lower RPMs to stay cooler. Yes, I have slightly more oil but it just help staying a bit cooler for a few minutes with more thermal oil mass. Not easy. My friends in 07' GT3 has 215F all the time.. no matter what. His center radiator is more thermally efficient by venting on the top.
Not sure what to do. I like 997 platform. By the way 997.2 are pretty much the same. I need to invent water injection system like in new M3s.

I have an '07 C2S with factory X-51 kit, which strangely does not include the X-51 oil pan. I cracked my original pan this past winter and had the X-51 put on as a replacement. Works fine, oils stays in the engine.

As a point of reference, XP-9 is safe to higher than 250*... and like I said, it was nearly 100* for 25 mins sessions and my temp still did not hit 250*.
