$650 for an oil pan is highway robbery. you can have it welded. On an Audi A6 I cracked an oil pan when I hit a speed bump I didn't notice. It was an older Audi and I repaired it with JB weld...it held fine and didn't even remove the pan or gasket
glad to hear everything looks minor.

Sad to say but I did the same thing Turbodan did to my old E28 BMW ///M5. I bottomed our going through an intersection & w/ some JB Weld did the trick. Never had an issue after that. Drove the car for years issue free.

I'm very happy to report that I got my car back from the shop last night and it's good as new. It was a severely cracked pan that we replaced with the x51 variant (my car is a factory X51, but evidently that does not include the x51 pan). There was also damage to some of the under body panels and brake ducts, and that was all replaced as well. Insurance covered everything. The long lead time was just getting the inspector to my indy shop.

Thanks everyone for all the positive responses.
