The cab is only considered a "lesser" car on the internet fora
In Europe, used 997 cabs always command a premium over the coupé's, generally around 5k EUR

In Canada where its winter for 5 months I put my snow tires on and drive as I always do!! Not saving the car for some future event or owner. Still hit the back roads and its better cause there is no traffic. Given periodic thaws, I have had the top down I think in every month - rare but it happens. Top down whenever possible. Cabs are a true sports car experience for all seasons!!

But, I can't stand the sun. It ain't the sun we had when I was a young adult in the early 90s where I drove around in my jeeps top down and doors off and sometimes even the windshield down. Nowadays, the sun will blister you to death. So I'd rather drive around in my Targa and at least see the sky, than drive a cab, but have to wear a hat to protect from the sun.

But sometimes in the early morning or late evening when the sun is weeker, I wish my Targa was a cab.
If it's a sports car it's a cab. Love the look when the top is up too.

Owned a TR-6, MG and Fiat so old school POV. My other car's a Cab as well!

Always loved cabs.

Yesterday's cab. 1973 TR6. Should've kept it.

Today's cab.

Love my cab!

Also in Canada, so when it's not stored for winter, its top down.

Living in the south we enjoy our convertibles very much. If it gets colder a scarf and heated seats will just do it. Nothing compares to smell and feel your surrounding. Here are the current 3 CAB's in our family where 2 are DD.

Just don't forget to put on sunblock. The UV rays can do a lot of harm. This is a big part of the reason I can't get a cab.

I thought I was a coupe guy until I drove a 997 turbo cabriolet. Now I can’t see myself owning a coupe again, at least not as my only Porsche.

Same, I bought a Cab to "appease" the GF. I now think it's awesome, aside from the horrible visibility with the top up.

I went for a top down drive today, November 26th in New England!

Since I got my first convertible at age 18 (32 years ago), I've never NOT owned a convertible.

Ok, one of those cars had T-tops, but to me, that's close enough for government work.

If the temperature is above 50, my top is down. There is no maximum temperature.

Here is one of my older hot rodded 911 cabs. May not be to everyone's liking, but back in 2004 I built the engine out to 3.8 with Lenz stand alone fuel management system and had around 305 hp and 265 tq to the wheels. Installed factory RS seats custom painted and custom covered center seat cushion. did red dash surround, had all carbon fibre trim and about $10k in a mostly McIntosh and Scan Speak system. Outside modifications include 993 cabriolet top, Speedlines and other obvious changes. This thing was a beast and would set car alarms off when driving it through parking garages.

Cabs are what they are. Sacrifice performance and looks to feel the wind, the sun and hear more than you would with the windows and sunroof down. To some of us the body shape (particularly the roof line, C-pillar, etc) are what makes the 911 so iconic. To others, the performance is incredible. These 2 things are very high on my list for a sports car. I also happen to do a lot of outdoor activities (race Karts, surf, mountain bike, dirt bike, etc...) so I get my "wind in the face" fix through different avenues. I wouldn't mind adding an S2000 to the stable if I ever get into a situation where I can't participate in those other activities, but my 911s will always remain in coupe variety.

After owning an S2k I told myself I would never own a convertible that wasn’t build ground up as a convertible. Not saying it is a logical thought, but that is sorta where I am at on the cab vs coupe thing.
This is exactly where I am with it as well.
