Center Console Refresh
RTL5009 convinced me to repaint my center console to match my exterior paint color. His interior is OEM with this option and it looks amazing.
We completed the project this afternoon and I’m really happy with the result.
First, we broke down the components and sanded off the soft-touch finish. After stripping everything off, we ordered the paint from AutomotiveTouchup. They had me contact Porsche North America to get the color code. A quick call to Porsche and I had everything I needed to order the paint: “E9” Midnight Blue Metallic.
We primed the pieces. Then applied 5 coats of paint. The longest part of the process was the clearcote (needs 10 minutes between coats and 8 hours to dry).
After reassembling the console, I had a finish that perfectly matched the exterior paint. Thanks to RTL for the help getting this done!
Prepping and sanding.
Primered and ready for paint.
The linkage was cool to see firsthand.
Painted to match the exterior.
Reinstalling.
All wrapped up and ready to drive.

Petz applied a wrap to his and they look really good: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...scratches.html

I’m sure you can repaint them. You’ll just need to be super careful with the prep work, and wet-sanding, after you paint them.

Wonder how the plastic would react to the glue in the wrap and whether that would make removable impossible without damaging. I’ve always wanted to paint my seatbacks but have been hesitant. With a white car, didn’t want too much white in there amongst the sea of black.
