I have the Billy Boat cross pipes installed on my 2009 997.2 C2 and the answer to your three questions is: NO

Recently purchased a 997.2 S and it had SW X Pipe. Just did Fister side cans. Sounds awesome, way way better than just X pipe alone ...BUT:

- Terrible vibration at idle. Shakes the seats badly. It was the same before the Fister cans. Mechanic can't see any install issues.
- Torque feels the same but mechanic notes a delayed throttle response. I do too. Could be the low idle speed?

Vibration was so bad I did motor mounts (at 42K) and it's exactly the same. Car handles better and ride is more refined but same awful vibration. Very frustrating!

(I do have a PDK)
What is the fix exactly? I have PDK and SW X pipe, getting terrible vibration. Thanks!

I don't have Fister, but do have PSE. I noticed a wiggle at idle after installing the SW pipe, but not what I would call a "terrible vibration." If you have the center muffler, suggest you reinstall to see if the SW pipe is the cause. Where are you located? If you're in the SF Bay Area, and don't have the center muffler, you can borrow mine. (Mine is off a Carrera GTS. Will it fit your car?)

I do have the stock center muffler, but really love the sound right now! Just though there has to be an easy fix. Sharkwerks claimed it was rare, but after doing some research it looks like it is a very common problem. They tried selling me the $1,400 ECU tune. I've spent enough lately!

IIRC, the fix for the PDK vibrations is to not attach the bypass pipes to the center mounting bracket (two bolts welded to the SW pipe I think). The BIlly Boat pipes don't even have the mounting points to attach to the center bracket, so I don't think it's a stability / security issue. The pipes are held on sufficiently by the headers and mufflers.

I was on the verge of buying an x pipe when I saw this. I did some research and then contacted Sharkwerks, talked to Alex, and confirmed PDK cars vibrate at idle. I've worked really hard to diagnose my rough idle (replacing engine mounts and throttle body) and I'm just now to a point where she's smooth. I don't want to give up my smooth idle. I guess a crossover pipe just isn't for me

Also, I found complaints from AWE and Fabspeed crossover pipes too. Didn't find any on Billy Boat, but not sure they'd be any better.

I did find out, if you ditch the OEM mufflers the vibration goes away. Fister mufflers are OEM so they vibrate as well.

I just talked to Alex at sharkwerks and he didn't mention this as a possible solution... I really want an x pipe, are you sure this will prevent the vibration on a PDK car?

I have PDK and Sharkwerks. No vibration. Never heard of this prior to this thread.

PDK, Gundo, Billyboat........no issues, great sound, any vibration and idle changes can be attributed to the increase in exhaust flow

Me too. 09 4S Cab with PDK. Billy Boat bipass, Fister mufflers and no vibration and never was before. My first change was the installation of the Billy Boat bipass. No vibration although I did experience a exhaust leak but new sleeves fixed that issue. Then installation of the Fister exhaust and no vibration.

2009 C2. PDK, Gundo and BB pipes. The only thing that changes was the sound of the car, from forty to sweet and burbly.
