Default Where to get vacuum for exhaust system with valves?

Hello all, Im new here but not that new to Porsche. I had a Cayman S 2007 and now I have a 911 S 2008. I have been looking around and I cant seem to find where to draw vacuum for an exhaust system im installing. My 911 does not have PoRsche exhaust system so i dont have the previous set up. Is there anyone around that can attach pictures of where are you installing the vacuum line T. Thanks in advance!

I plugged into a vacuum line for some exhaust valves off the back and right side of the airbox. If you have the oem air box you can see a vacuum line plugged into a small actuator on the right side. "T" into that line.

What are your plans for the exhaust vacuum valve?

You'll need an electric vacuum solenoid and then either a switch or a remote to actuate it. If you find a vacuum source in the engine that's on whenever the car is running the exhaust will have vacuum and be quiet all the time. Or are you trying to connect a constant vacuum source and then install something that mechanically interrupts the vacuum flow. If so, it will also need to release the vacuum in the line between that device and the mufflers so the springs can move the valves, otherwise it takes about 10 minutes with the car off before enough vacuum bleeds off that the muffler valves move.

Vacuum pulls the valves to normal mode and the absence of vacuum allows the springs to move them to Sport mode.

Thanks for your replies, I found this diagram and i will be building something similar but with a switch instead of the obd setup. My concern was hooking up the vacuum to a good line and not tap into something that will give me a headache. Please see diagram below and me know where can I Connect my T. Thanks in advance!

See #8 in diagram.

I did something very similar already. Using a solenoid valve with a remote control I tapped into the location I stated earlier. Behind stock airbox

Here is a more detailed link to my "valved gundo" mod. #26

Here are some photos of my setup. Last photo show me holding vacuum line, but you can see solenoid valve switch with in/out lines just behind and to the left of my hand.

Yes... that is attached to the back of your airbox. T-bar in to the black vacuum line directly prior to grey valve actuator.. do not attach to the grey box valve actuator which is programmed to open and close the airbox valve.

That other connection should have a line running to airbox valve. If not, make sure to cap it so there are no chances of vacuum leaks.

My base / no PSE / .2 have no vacuum port on the airbox, so I bought a ford vacuum pump to build vacuum to my solenoid and then the valves.

On Akrapovic procedure for base .2, they recommand to take the vacuum on PDK vacuum line but I didn't want some chinese valves to have anything to mess around with expensive PDK.

For now the system is not installed but I will report back when done with pictures ;-)
