I've done quite a bit of searching here, other sites, and am trying to determine if the OEM 18" options will clear the PCCB calipers on the 997.1S? They're 350mm rotors all around, have 19" wheels on there now, and there appears to be plenty of room to drop down to an 18" wheel.

Almost every thread I've read has been with the larger 380mm rotors, so I'm not sure if there are other considerations? (proper offsets for caliper clearance, etc).

Has anyone here with a 997.1S with 350mm PCCBs gone to an 18" wheel? If so, which ones? Thanks!

 

The early 997.1s with PCCBs used the carryover setup from the 996 TT with 350mm rotors all around. I'm not sure when the front rotor size changed to 380mm but might have been as early as 2006.

The clearance issue is usually from the caliper to the wheel spokes not to the inside barrel of the wheel so I think on diameter you'll be OK, but might need a small wheel spacer depending on the specific OEM 18" wheel chosen.

 

Not sure if it helps but I have 350 mm Girodisc steel rotors front and rear with 18” wheels (Porsche wheels and APEX) with no clearance issues.
I am using the original calipers with 10 mm spacers
and I am using 5 mm wheel spacers on all wheels, which are needed for clearance for the APEX wheels
and it’s on a 997.2 S, but I’m pretty sure we have the same brakes

 

Appreciate the responses, thank you. Looks like there's plenty of room for barrel clearance, but there is indeed very little clearance between the caliper and spokes. Will have to factor in spacers as well.
