Repainted 997 GTS Centerlocks Silver
Black is standard issue for the CLs on a GTS. My car came w/ a "body color" option, so they were meteor grey. Although an improvement (IMHO) over black, I've still always thought they were too dark. I've considered replacing them, but wanted to keep the CLs as I think they are part of what makes a GTS a GTS... the aftermarket options were limited and pricey.
I searched and read about NoGaBiker's experience... https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9376...gt-silver.html ... the fact that he's in Atlanta and was willing to share the contact info for his "guy" made it an easy decision. I decided to have them resprayed in GT Silver. I thought this was a OEM-like option since Porsche offered GT Silver as a body color in 2011. Had I spec-ed the wheels in silver from the factory, this would have been a possible option. I went with a gloss finish vs. satin because it will be easier to clean.
Short story... I love the way they turned out. Chris (Ardun Wheels on facebook) is first class. As w/ NoGaBiker, Chris came to my house, put the car on jack stands, and took the wheels to his shop. The craftsmanship is excellent, and he was a pleasure to work with on the job. He's even got a set of CL tools.
Here's a set of before/after...
Before - Meteor Grey
After - GT Silver

Looks fantastic! That is a great upgrade!

Excellent upgrade. I never liked the rims being a different color than the rest of the wheel. You fixed both shortcomings in one smart play.

Very nice! Soon after I bought my GTS, I was on the hunt for a set of silver wheels as the all-black, bad boy look didn't suit me. Or so I thought. Almost bought a set of silver wheels on two separate occasions. Never did, and grew to like the black wheels, but only with the silver lip. Certainly is a different look with silver, which I'm sure I would have liked, too.

Looks nice either way I think. Only, I think the centerlock itself should be color matched to the rest of the wheel, whether it be grey, black, or silver. The way it contrasts makes it look like the guys who got new wheels and didn’t get a chance to color match the center caps to the wheels. Lol.

I went to full contrast centrelock nut, red. It comes with a bronze nut, bland. The red gives it a bit of a pop, and matches the calipers. And I just installed red front seatbelts.

I was thinking about the same. The caps actually look close to gt silver, so it's really just the nut. They're anodized so it works, but red would look good I think.
