What do you guys think?
I own a 2009 C4S, 6 speed manual with 144k miles. It has been an excellent daily driver, no problems, and I planned on really keeping it for as long as possible. We are expecting our first child in October. We just went and looked at a pretty clean 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S with 98k miles. We already have a '05 Mercedes ML350 that was going to be the dedicated baby car. Do I sell the 911 for the Cayenne as a "Dadmobile" or is that a silly idea? I am already leaning toward not selling. What do you guys think?

If I recall correctly, your car has a deviated tan/black interior. I had spoken to the previous owner about buying it about a year ago but passed, sounds like it's an excellent car.
The Cayenne will quickly start needing a lot more love at 98k than the 911 will. Keep the 911.

You've got the MB. Keep the 911. Add a baby seat if you plan to share parenting and need a second car option. The kid will love and respect the 911 much more than another car in a few more years.

Rear facing seats might be tricky in a 997. But forward facing are not so hard to live with, even as an everyday experience => I've been doing it for more than a year now.
If you still want to switch, try a Panamera => It's a bit of both worlds.

keep it. The kid will love it in three years w/ a booster. Buy another car to use in the meantime when the need arises. You won't get much for the 997 with that many miles on it so just enjoy it when you can.

Moving the 911 won't add up to enough money for it to make sense. Keep it and try to hit the 200k mile mark.

A 2009 Turbo S Cayenne is awesome for what it is, which is a very capable high-performance mid-size SUV - maybe the best in its class, but it's not a 911. I have both. It would be an awesome additional car you could make your daily, and keep the 911 for your fun car.
If you need to give up the 911 for a larger vehicle, the Macan Turbo or GTS would be the one where you wouldn't miss your 911 as much - it's like a lifted 911.
I've never been able to warm up to the looks of any Generation Panamera myself, no matter how good it is.

Really depends if your having a boy or a girl.
If you're having a boy, keep the 911, you will be the cool dad.

Chosen well.
Ive got two boys (7 and 8) and they love it sitting in the back. With the 7 seat Land Rover for my wife we've never had a situation where we needed more car. Long trips we use her car. My car handles anything I need to do around town: school drop off, soccer practice, etc. Its also the weekend mobile if we go to the beach or Napa for the afternoon. Anything under 1hr the dudes are fine in the back. Over that they start fighting over who can lie their head on the transmission hump.
And congrats on the new baby!!
