Default 997.2 C2S X51 - Unable to pull DME info?

Good afternoon,
I've finally located the elusive 997.2 C2S that I've been looking for, I've put down a deposit and now awaiting a PPI. However, during the initial evaluation by the (indy) dealer, he was unable to pull any info on the overrevs (see pic). The car has gone to another indy for the PPI, but I'm concerned about buying a car without a DME overrev report.

1) Has anybody ever run into this issue? If so, were you able to troubleshoot?

2) If this is not a common occurrence, does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting this issue? Another scanner? Take it to a dealer?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Evan

If this is the PTS blue car in the bay area, congraratulations. Beautiful car.

The Durametric tools (Pro or Enthusiast) can access the over-rev report.

Thanks kcheves! Yes it is. Keeping my fingers crossed that the PPI doesn't turn up any gremlins. Hoping that the dealer or the PPI shop has such a tool - I've seen it mentioned so often on Rennlist that I figured it was a common one to have.

It's also possible that the Autel tool they are using displays zeroes as dashes, which would make this a clean report. The other parameter you will want to see is the total number of hours on the engine.

Ah gotcha. Just spoke with indy and he has obtained a Durametric tool so hopefully to get an answer soon...also X51 apparently raised the rev limiter - could have an impact on the DME for the 9A1 engine?

Car was available for $48k in Minnesota by the previous owner two weeks ago.

Dealer has about 9k of room built into it, not including reconditioning/shipping/etc. Very well documented, should be a great car. It did have an accident however - make sure all the paperwork is included with it (there was lots).

Thanks - you contacted me about the car and I showed interest but I guess the dealer got to it before I could.

Any insight on this? It appears all the 4/5/6 range were at 212h so it’s been quite some time since these things happened - if there were an issue would have probably shown itself? Thanks all!

Issues from overrevs 1,400 hours ago would have surfaced by now. Someone did just run it up to the redline during the last test drive though - probably you That DME report is a little odd though in that the overrev occurences aren't constantly decreasing through the higher overrev ranges, which they should be as you can't get to 6 without going through 4 and 5 and you can't get to 5 without going through 4. Still, so long ago, I don't think it's a concern, but it will come up again when you go to resell it. Average speed of 33.6 is in the ballpark so it doesn't look like anything was tampered with as far as the hour counter or odometer.

Thank you! Bought the car. Shipping pending.
