Default Do 997.1 need an OBD2 adapter???

Guys, I have an Innova OBD2 reader that I've had for over a decade and it won't plug into the OBD2 port in my 997.1

I thought that the OBD2 was standard accross the automotive world.

The 997.1 port is the exact same shape, but they won't connect together, hence my question regarding an adapter for it.

Thanks.

The plastic locking tab on the blue connector is probably interfering with the trim surrounding the diagnostic port. Durametric for example has a thinner metal locking tab. You could snap off the tab on yours or get a cheap obd2 extension on eBay/amazon and modify that instead.

Bammm you got it. Snapped the tab off and it fit right in. Best part is that no codes were stored. Thanks.
