Default Which options were must haves for you when you bought your 997?

So I was at a local shop yesterday getting a quote on ceramic coating/PPF. I always get a kick out of looking in the back and the cars being worked on. Every exotic with every option you can imagine, I always enjoy getting a peek into how wealthy people roll. One in particular, a GT3 with $134K in options, including $72K in special/custom leather including a frunk in leather with deviated stitching really stood out. Most optioned 911 the guy had ever seen, including an option I still have no clue what it is, a $5,200 - No text maintained in language "E" option. The car came straight from the showroom and still had the new sticker on the window, that's how I saw all of this.

I realize this is an extreme example in every way, but it got me thinking about options. So I was wondering, besides the obvious (condition, miles, color) which options were the most important to you? Is there an option that you told yourself were deal makers/breakers? I'm guessing manual v automatic will be at or near the top of the list. For me it was full leather, along with sports chrono and upgraded seats. A few colors were deal breakers for me. Since I was getting the S model, several options were standard. So curious as to what options were the most/least important to you?

I just wanted a 6spd C2S everything else was a bonus. I ended up with adaptive sport seats, after owning a car with them I would miss not having them. Also I am a steering wheel guy, not having the sport wheel would be a negative for me.

For me it had to be 997.2 or newer, S model, cabriolet and PDK. I would have liked better seats, but they are all too narrow for me. Beyond that, I don't care. I'm too old to be picky.

Standard was a must. Other than that I wanted a car with as few options as possible in order to make the heavy car just a tab bit lighter.... Hell i wish there was a radio delete.

An S or greater HP. Sport Chrono. Full leather. Leather door finishers (aka spears). Wide body. PCCBs with 5 bolts. PDK, PTS Riviera or Mexico Blue (some other PTS blues also work (Oslo, Copenhagen) or Polar Met with Carrera Red leather (but not the dash)

Same for me. My only requirements where manual, 997.2, and as few options as possible. I wouldn’t want a radio delete but I would LOVE to have sunroof delete. Unfortunately that wasn’t an available option on non-GT cars in NA, so I found pretty much exactly what I wanted.

Now that it has been mentioned, radio delete would have been nice. I never listen to it.

Wide body, 4S, 6spd manual, meteor grey, black leather heated seats and heated steering wheel, PCM with nav, power comfort seats, and sport chrono plus pkg.

PSE and carbon pkgs were a nice bonus!

Current car is my first Porsche. Budget ($50k max) was controlling for me, as I wanted a paid-for car. After months of researching I decided on 997.2 with 6MT and reasonable miles. I found a two-owner base Carrera with 35k miles on Autotrader in Florida. Minimal options - 19" Carrera S II wheels, Bluetooth, Universal Audio Interface. Added Fister mufflers and GT3 shifter. Would like to upgrade steering wheel from standard, but for now I'se happy.

Solid condition, 997.2, Carrera S, manual, sport chrono, black over black, Bose.

Ended up with well maintained, all service records, and PSE as well. I got it professionally detailed and ceramic coated and it couldn’t have turned out better...awesome example for me.

Very interesting answers so far. The couple that mentioned as few options as possible to save weight surprised me the most. While it makes sense I never thought of it, must be getting old and soft.

For me it was 997.2 cabriolet, PDK, Bluetooth, auxillary audio, full leather! Wanted blue with blue top and bought ruby red with black top. Couldn't find the blue I wanted. Very happy with my choice but still love the blue with blue cabriolet roof.

I ordered mine new, but the one thing I had to have, was headlight washers in matching paint. It’s inane, I know, but the headlight washers in feaux chrome just bothered me to no end on my first 911.

997.2, S, PDK, Cab, Bose, audio interface and NAV. I also wanted a color that didn't draw smokey's attention. I love manual transmissions but I've been there, done that. I added Sport after purchasing.
