Who has placed their orders??
I am not even sure Porsche dealers are taking orders for the 997 yet? If they are taking orders, I am curious if anyone has placed an order?
Are order guides available yet?

Working on it...
I am working with a few dealers on my upcoming 997.
I by no means want to "be the 1st on my block" to have one or anything like that. I just want the car optioned as I wish. I am considering euro delivery to boot, so I am getting an early start.
Everything of mine is pending the engine. I do not really want a V8. I want the "balance" of the flat 6. I was looking for 400 HP non- turbo, but it sounds as if 350 will be it.
I have gotten very little information from the dealers I am in touch with on this new model.

Many dealers are willing (and have been) to take deposits for future cars. I've done this as well, but only due to a personal timing issue for me.
There are no 'official orders' and no order guides yet (my sources tell me April perhaps) and then, only then, will dealers begin to pass along the info.
I also expect, as with last year's rollout of the C4S Cab and TT Cab, that in late summer/early fall in the US we will see some 997's come rolling in. Factory cars, basic option packages, in Black and Silver of course, to be safe, and that will get interest going.

Personally, I won't be putting my name on any more new Porsches until I'm satisfied that :
1) The rear main seal issue has been eliminated.
2) Porsche has taken care of those of us who put our money into 996's by extending the warranty or coming up with a real fix for the RMS.

At this point I cant get excited as some about the 997. By what I have seen it just looks a lot like a 996.
I do have interest, but why would anyone say "yes" to one before we get a chance to see if its any good, or even an upgrade to the 996?
I get the impression that I must be one of the few serious buyers that are waiting to see & feel one before I buy one. The car will have to impress ME (not my neighbors) before I pay for it for sure.
If the 997 is not fabulous then I may look for a nice used GT3 or Maranello. I know both of those are fabulous.

If the 997 isn't any good I will pass on it. Seeing how it is mostly a facelifted 996 with 25 more horsepower, how bad could it be?
