997 RMS Weeping
Picked up an 08 C2 49K miles last week and the PPI shows the RMS is weeping oil. Clutch is engaging higher than normal but not bad, so not sure how urgent addressing the RMS leak is? Input is appreciated!
Thanks!

I had same PPI report when I purchased my 2007 997C4S - Report came back with weeping RMS thru bell housing.
**Turns out it was not the RMS seal---> It was one of the IMS seals or bolts or similar. I could find out if u need to know for sure
Since I am one to take car of any issues immediately, I had my indy mechanic replace RMS seal, the leaky IMS seal or bolt or whatever it was, I spent $533(Incuding shipping) for RMS seal and Sachs Clutch and had that installed at same time.
I buy my parts thru RennPart on east coast---> Incredible discount OEM parts
Don't wait to repair it - Get er done

This won’t be cheap if done at dealer, as they need to pull off the transmission to do the job. If they’re in there already, and your clutch is worn, you might as well have them do the clutch. On my 07 C2S Cab, the RMS and IMS seal was replaced in 09 when it was still under warranty. I hadn’t owned the car at this time, so not sure what it might have cost but pretty sure it wouldn’t be cheap. Maybe an Indy would be much more economical.

Stay as far away from dealer as possible
My indy who is 50 year Porsche Service/Mechanic Aker's Porsche here in Seattle charges $120/hr
Total cost for labor to replace:
1. Replace Clutch/check flywheel(ok)---->
2. Reseal IMS weep---->While doing this work w/tranny off, they removde IMS grease seal - **This is recommended as it allows more oil flow into bearing**
3. Replace front brake rotors and front pads
4. Replace water pump and thermostat
5. Flush brake system/flush coolant system
6. Oil/filter service...............................................Labor $2700
Parts............................................................$1300
Total-----> $4000
