No, just looking at the overall picture. If I want to move up to something else in 5 yrs or so, I just did not know how big of a deal that mark on the Carfax would be to a potential buyer.

Almost always get a PPI even if the car is a CPO. Some dealers just don't do what they're supposed to do to certify a car.
I don't ever trust Carfax information. I have seen too many mistakes to put any trust in it. Try to find out what the accident was, then weigh that in your decision along with the PPI results and the fact that it is a CPO car. Good luck.

Get a second look via PPI, and err on the side of enjoying the car if you like what you see so far.

1k ?? could be a bumper respray from a small kiss or something else minor . Check the bumpers for respray otherwise whatever it is was very minor , make sure you have the car properly PPI'd .

As others have said getting an accident report and certainly a PPI to clarify situation.
Looked at a 997turbo that had a "Carfax" reported minor rear damage. Located a copy of the police accident report that stated original owner had rear bumper minor damage, officer valued it as $800.
The second owner had a $500 inspection/ certification that there was NO body, sheetmetal, or frame/chassis damage. Later found that it had "replaced and painted rear bumper skin"....by the way that cost over $2k for parts, painting and labor at a high end paint shop. There aren't any $1000 accident repairs involving paint or parts on a 911...IMO.
Fully agree, front and rear bumper skins are like chin spoilers, a "wear" item that has no real impact on value or overall car....except there are some buyers that want only original paint, so it may not be OK with everyone.
