Hello there. I wanted to introduce myself to the forums. I just purchased my first Porsche. It's a 2009 Carrera S with a manual transmission which was much harder to find than I thought it would be. (I know the PDK is better but I bought the car for joy rather than lap times). I'm looking to get rid of the rear decklid/wing in favor of the Getty Sport Ducktail or possibly a Turbo look. May even go back to stock. Can anyone identify the one on here? It's carbon fiber but honestly quite ghetto and was reflected in the vehicle price so I was able to overlook it. I'd be happy to trade or sell it but if not I'll probably just add it to my lemon's race car for laughs. Aside from the wing I'll need to address a couple rock chips in the front bumper and hood as well as a nasty one in the windshield I picked up driving it home. Also the oh-so-common floppy door pull. Otherwise I'm quite pleased. Looking forward to being a part of the community.
Congratulations, and welcome. I am truly jealous. I recently bought a 997.1 a month ago, and I always wanted a 997.2 for the clearly superior interior, but most importantly, for the peace of mind not having to worry about IMS/bore scoring issues. What are the details? Mileage, options, price, etc.?
Congrats! Great looking car.
With a coupe, I would switch to a Ducktail also.
I'm leaning that way. Although if I can find a stock lid in Carrera White, I'd be happy with that for a while.

I too was looking for a 997.1 as they fit more comfortably in my budget. There's a great '06 with a rebuilt motor bored to 4.0 in the marketplace here that I almost bought but it's black and I hate trying to keep a black car clean. I found this car on eBay out of state, flew in to buy it and drove it home.
2009, 41k miles, paid $41,997.20 (ebay offer accepted).
It has H&R springs and this kinda/sorta GT3 style rear wing/deck but is otherwise stock.
It's a little thin on options: Power Comfort Seats, BT Phone Interface, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High End.
[QUOTE=chuckgm3;15744305]Thank you, the PO wasn't sure which ones they are but I'm pretty sure they're Champion Motorsport RS184's. They definitely have that Ruf look.[/QUOTELooks like 184's -

Not sure why my other reply to this didn't show up. Maybe the forum thought it was an ad because it had a dollar sign? Anyway, here's the details.

Damn, you practically stole the car at that price!
Congrats on a beauty. If you go to a duck tail, the Getty i bought didn't even need to be modded for a great fit. Great part. Good luck with upgrades, part of the fun!
