Default Oil change and brass on the magnetic plug

Just did an oil change, low miles oil change. Found this in my magnetic oil plug. Never seen this brass looking material. Any input?

Not sure what you mean by "brass looking" Brass is non-magnetic so your plug didn't pick up any brass but obviously something was picked up. Maybe send an oil sample out for analysis?

+1

Looks like rusty iron to me, but not sure why anything in the engine or sump would be rusty. Is the car a really low mileage garage queen where moisture could develop in the engine from condensation in the oil due to short drives, then be parked that way for quite a while?

I'd send some of the oil and the material from the tip of the plug for analysis.
