Default Help Identify unknown clip

So I decided to spray under the car today at the carwash, full blast, which was totally dumb. I am pretty certain that this clip flew off from around the water pump area. Anyone have any idea where it comes from?

Hmm. Dont recall seeing that type of retainer spring anywhere when replacing my water pump. However I think you have a 997.2.

I would check the hoses around the expansion tank too.

No it is a 997.1. I think it is a clip as posted above except I can’t find where it would go.

pretty sure it is to my car, so any additional insight would be much appreciated, including looking around the water pump area on another 997.1

Looks like it is a clamp for a rubber hose. Check the ones in the water pump area or where the metal lines that run around the engine sump connect to rubber hoses.

It would slip over the hose and then have the 2 open ends crossed over to stay tight.

I don't believe so.

This looks more like a mechanical clip to retain something on a metal shaft. I don't recall anything like it on my 997.1 water pump/thermostat/recovery tank replacement though.
