Do we all have a similar feeling?

Do we all have a similar feeling?
Ohio winters...long and exhausting. Poor 997 in the garage getting some amateur service complete during the bitter cold, and snowy, season. I live on a cul-de-sac so she gets a little spin around after each little maintenance item I perform. Don't lecture me...she is a cabriolet and NO I am not driving her in the crappy Ohio winter. Now we are getting close to spring. Salt is pretty much washed off the roads and the evening temptations draw me in. Tonight I brought her out for a real drive. 35 degrees and yes, her top was down. And also YES, I froze my *** off. But, the sound of the exhaust and the torque of that engine...just puts me in another place. I used to have motorcycles. After long days I would get on my bike and just drive around. It was a "clearing of my mind" thing. My 997 puts me in the same place. Not just a mode of transportation...it's an experience. Who needs alcohol on St. Patty's Day, we have Porsches

Very well said. It is a feeling driving these cars. Can’t explain it. You just must feel it.

38 degrees here, it rained much of last week and the snow and salt are pretty well gone. I took my C2 cab out yesterday. I can't push it real hard, because oil temp never got over 175. It felt great and behaved perfectly. All I did was make sure tire pressure was good and battery was charged. I did not put my top down. I thought about it, though.

That's why I have almost 61,000 miles on my 2011 GTS. Tried a couple of common daily drivers but it didn't take long to accept that I wanted the 911 every day. Not just for weekend drives or something to look at in the garage. Sold the daily drivers in short order. Life's not long enough to own a 911 and spend more time looking at it rather than driving it imo. Especially not when you live in any part of the country where it can be driven year around. I can appreciate those who don't take their 997's out in snow and salt. No way I would go there either.

Despite having 7 cars, there is always time for the 997. Here's a little something to warm you up. We have 12-months of cab weather. Don't let the weather depress you! Make it a Porsche day!

You guys living in nice climates are making me want to jump off a bridge .... Funny thing about life is when you set out to achieve everything you want in life and attain it you find yourself handcuffed by the very things you set out to attain.
Its not that bad as made out to be when the 911 comes out in a month ...Just don't ask me the same question in October / November

Here in Minnisnowda, it is finally staying in the 40s and this even 50s! Snow if finally conceding its dominance on our landscape so I am itching to get out. Problem now is flooding. All the good roads seem to be to get around rivers and lakes and that is where all the flooding is happening.
I am fortunate that I have not been impacted by flooding and I hope for the best who have!!

Was out for another drive yesterday after some yard work, out some back roads and ended up running with a 718 cab for about 30 minutes, looked like he was enjoying the great spring weather as well...
... it sure was a great day to get it out of the garage ... and drive.

We finally had 70's in the ATL last weekend. Got some good drives in with the top down. What a privilege it is to own these cars. Hard to explain the feeling when driving them. It is just fun to drive and experience the car. I am planning a drive up to Tail of the Dragon in NC in two weeks. Looking forward to it. Have not been there yet.

Growing up in Detroit everyone in our family have our cars we love. For me it is my 911, my brother his Aston Martin and my dad his 1964 Dodge Dart Convertible GT. We are planning a trip to the tail of the dragon this fall just as a get together because we can with our favorite cars. Can’t wait.
