Default Remote locking issue

Hello all. I am having an issue with my 2009 Carrera. When locking my car with the remote, I have to be standing right next to it. If I stand 5 feet away it won’t lock. Unlocking however is not a problem. I can be really far away. It doesn’t matter which key I use. They both do the same thing. Has anyone else had this happen? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have the key in some type of decorative case or cover. I have my Cayenne key in a little case and have the same issue, but like the case, so deal with the range issue.

I actually had a couple new ebay key shells painted the same color as the car when it was being painted, but haven't swapped the guts over to them yet.

No I don’t. My keys are the way they came from Porsche. I put a new battery in them too just to eliminate that from the possibilities.

You should be able to lock/unlock from at least 50 feet away. Perhaps the key fob has an issue with getting the signal out? When you replaced the battery did you reassemble everything carefully?

Check, too, the receiver end of the car. Where is the receiving antenna to the system? I don't recall.

I don’t believe it is the remote. The car does the same thing no matter which key I use. Unlocking the car is not a problem either. I can do it from very far away. It’s only when locking. Really strange.

Parked on an incline? What type of oil do you use?

Sorry, I don't have any advice. Personally, I've had no problems with my keyfobs, but of course, I don't try to lock or unlock the car from 50 feet out. I usually within just a few feet. I like to see the amber lights flash. lol
