Default Heated Seats/Headlamp washers issue

I just purchased my dream 911. White over tan 2006 Carrera S. Two issues that I hear might be connected. The heated seats are not functioning. Switch does not light up nor do they heat and the headlamp washers do not squirt. I have been told that might indicate the battery has been disconnected and there needs to be a reset or ECU flash or something similar done and both issues disappear. Anyone know of this procedure or has heard of such a thing!
Great to be back. Sold the Boxster and been searching for the right car since 2013!

Same thing happened to me last year. No Homelink, seat heaters, or headlamp washers - it showed up after my battery died. The dealer can reset it for you - I think it's called a "handshake," It only took a 30-min appt and cost about $85.

Thanks. Great relief! Dealer said they had tried to fix it with new module but I was not certain they were totally honest.
