Wednesday, June 15 at 1:00pm EST (10:00AM PST) is the correct original day/time I wrote for the Auction end and is currently the day/time of Auction end so nothing was changed on the part of BAT
Not sure what happened in translation from above to here below but cutoff for Guessing was always today at 10:00AM PST
Maybe my wife slipped schrooms in my coffee?

And to top things off I didn't write the end day/time on my calendar this time around. I usually do write it down.

All I know is I had my reminder set to check the auction today like normal (if not already guessed) and since I was on duty and heavy call volume, I had to wait until later.

BAT showed the times I posted.

Hence my post about it.

I'm okay with whatever but if what you saw was correct at the time and now it says otherwise, it is what it is...However Linder did get screwed given his comment right before you called it done.

We could scrap this one all together or Let Linder in now and call it good. Doesn't matter to me.

I have a feeling JVin is going to win anyway, since I posted there was an hour left and he short cut me by a thou.

Linder missed the cuttoff - Last guess in time before 1:00pm EST was Kindheitstraum at 12:59 hence my post/comment that he made it under the 1:00 wire.
Linder's comment about being late was well after 1:00pm EST so I believe all is fair.

I wonder if he realizes how his lack of engagement is costing him? I see where Linder pointed that out.

 

If we're going by the original end time like you stated, even though something changed before I saw it and guessed, and Linder can't get it, then it's only fair to remove me and JVin.

I'm not sure what happened to the time thing, as I stated I'd not been on much, if any that week and came in to hopefully meet the cut and saw the 4pm EST time. I made my guess.

But if Linder made his post prior to min and didn't look at take advantage of seeing the later 4pm EST time like JVin and I did, then he and I got an advantage over Linder... I can't in good conscience stay in and nor should JVin I guess.

Looks like this was hashed out in early April 2019, as the rules have evolved over time - mostly by consensus. My understanding is bids must be in 48 hrs prior to auction end (i.e. the reference is BaT, not the RL post, though posting the time is handy).

All that said, I'm just a playa - let the refs make the calls.

I agree, mostly. BAT sets the ultimate times of start / ending. If they change something, it's basically set at that point.

I'm okay with either and don't really consider myself a "Ref". I've just gotten involved in many of the issues / rule changes / etc. over the years. It's kinda in my nature, mostly due to my job. I'm used to mediating things. lol

I just want things to be a "Fair" as possible, but there's one thing my job and life has taught me, things are NEVER Fair.

So..... We can let it ride or back up to just after Linderpats post and THEN move forward with the new rule that if BAT changes the times, that THAT is the new standard.

Groov?? Or the original OP of this game can make the call. If it stands, JVin played the "game" best and was the benefactor of me finding the New one hour till the 48 hour close of guessing time.

 

FYI I was the original founder of the game and the OP "bgoetz" got it going with my direction.

I say lets keep things are they are with everyone on list good.
Funny I dug up an old comment Linder made on my BAT Auction of 996 C4S that I sold 6 years ago. It wasn't a positive one as he felt miles were high at 111K for the high sell price. Guess if he was more dialed in he would have realized it was a very good price for the service history, replaced IMS Bearing/etc . I see CanadianRacerman was dialed in.
