Mano congrats buddy. Now you are off the snide. I watched the end of this auction and it blew me away. Great to see our cars going up in value. We know how great they are and others and about to find out.

 

Replaced engine (M96 no less- shouldn't an '08 have the M97?), some pictures are fuzzy, non-stock wheels (delivered that way, or substituted?), and a base Carrera, not an S. I don't see this being a desirable example.
I don't see this going too high (unless the market really is going up that much).

I bought a 2005 manual C2S here with 39,000 miles for $39,500 back in 2017. I sold it a few months later for about what I paid. I could have gotten an identical car last spring for the same price. I agree; this pricing is crazy and makes no sense with what is going on in the world. I spoke with a director at JLL today; she said things are about to get UGLY in the commercial property market. Subleases have jumped 45% in the past 4 months as stressed companies try to get out from under office space. Renewals are drying up and leases aren't being signed; her opinion is that it takes a lot of folks 9 months to adjust (both banks and brokers) before they realize how bad things have gotten. Yet people are bidding up cars like it is a house flip in 2007 or a tech stock in 1999!

 

These 997 prices are really spiking on BaT. I may put mine up for sale - slate gray over full leather terra cotta; Fabspeed headers exhaust tips, hi-flo 200 cell cats, Fabspeed tune, short shifter, GT3 brake ducts, and more. Fast as stink, absolutely zero deferred maintenance - everything is dome including clutch, IMS, RMS, coolant tank, oil cooler, starter harness, AOS, water pump, t-stat, belts, and so forth. I'll bet it would go high. Everyone loves the color combination. It has some patina on the front, but that's because I drive it! (stored from Nov to Mar every year though).

Great job, @ManoTexas! I really don't understand the 997 targa and the prices...isn't it just a big sunroof if the door windows have the full metal frame on top??? Shocking to see the .997.2 targas listed for nearly 80k at dealers, Meanwhile, factory sunroof deletes cost more on some 911s. Maybe I should have factory ordered a targa with delete in 2007?!

The latest BaT contest here is going to be tough ... hope they freshened up the IMS when they put in the M96. I'll guess this gets half of what the recent targa got.
