Oil Leak discovered
After a high speed run - I noticed a small pool drip on my concrete and found this area upon inspection - behind the rear wheel inward of the muffler on the the driver side....any inklings that is a major issue or something to knock out when I get the plugs done?
Everything seems normal from driver perspective - but haven't driven since discovery.
And not sure it matters - switched to Castrol Edge about 600 miles ago from Mobile1....got 74K on the clock, 2011 997.2.
thanks

I took the photo 2 days later...would think fuel would have evap'ed by then....felt it in my finger like it was oily.
But I'll smell it in about an hour.

Upon further review:
This is the area in black on the photo -
Yes it appears to be oil - although nil smell - since thinking the Castrol is very new.
And as I tried to clean off the areas, the build-up feels like it's been there a while, like a slow weeping in progress.
I did see a shiny ring of oil built-up under (2) star-shaped bolt heads, so hoping that the process of
removing them and re-seating with add'l gasket material (suggested by
@Petza914 I think somewhere) will seal them up..

After reading the latest batch of Oil topics about SN Plus.....I'm wondering -
Would there be any reason to think that switching to Castrol Edge (from a life of Mobile1) caused or promoted to this leak?

I doubt it.
Did you change the oil yourself? I found that if I pour oil into the spout too fast the oil level in the spout can increase enough that the oil would push up enough to leak through the joints of the spout. It happened to me at least once (I may not have fully extended the spout either) and had I not had a rag under the spout the oil may have ended up in the general vicinity of yours.
BTW, Castrol Edge has lower calcium content than Mobil 1, so it may be slightly better if you're concerned about LSPI.

Thanks for the filling insight from your experience...but no related in this case.....only evidence of leak occurs after 6-8 weeks after the oil change. And after I wiped it clean - is clearly an on-going leak.
Does anyone have the torque spec's handy for these smaller (protruding head) star-shaped bolts? And there is also one smaller one that a standard type torx head.

Well no wasn't the P/S reservoir - after taking the airbox out and examining.
Definitely coming from the bottom of the motor at the corner from this assembly area in the photo.
Gotta be loose casing bolts - in my hopeful opinion. Going to the shop next week for werk.
