Default Clutch Replacement

997.2 2010 cabriolet 6 speed manual 140K miles
I have always been told the way to test a clutch is to pop the clutch in 3rd and if it stalls, the clutch is fine.

My car easily passes that, but when I give it the beans on the highway, it seems to slip. This happens for upshifts as well as down - even when I match revs.

-> Is it time for a new clutch? How much do you think it would cost?<-

I've never heard of the 3d gear test. I put the car in 5th or 6th, fully engage the clutch, and then matt the throttle. If it slips, it's time. Sounds like it's time.

140K miles? You have gone way past "time" for a clutch. Good clutch foot, however.

2009 C2S 130K miles

My experience was a bit different... maybe because the S has a different clutch (IIRC), an adjustable one.... but read here, it may help: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...went-cost.html

Peace
