The offset looks off on the rear wheel. Are those narrow body wheels?

Definitely a family resemblance, especially to the 992. Now all the Beetle needs as a spoiler that's black underneath that when up, looks like a Prius or CRX from the back and they would have nailed it. Actually, maybe that's why this is the last year of the Beetle - so it doesn't cannibalize 992 sales.

 

Explain they are distant cousins but definitely not brothers

 

mind you, there are some cool cousins.

 

no reason to hate on the beetle.. ferdinand porsche made the beetle.. then he went on to make a faster beetle ..the porsche

 

I laughed yesterday when I read Steph1's post.
But then today, when sitting at a light in my Arctic Silver C2S,
a silver Beetle pulled up behind me.
I started feeling like I was being stalked by an evil twin!!!

 

Lol... my daughter would have probably said ah look.... two identical Beatles 🙄

 

Well if she thinks that it's a Beetle, then I presume that the experience will be most unexpected from what you classify as a non straight line beast.

Btw, dig the GT3 wheels on the Pink 997 much better than the oems!

 

Yes, but you'll notice the windows are tinted pretty dark - sometimes I even have to drive it. Still a 911 though. She loves it and it's fun roasting people in her chick car when they think she's driving it.

We also get comments like, "How much Mary Kay do you have to sell to get one of those instead of the Cadillac?" LOL


Yep, those wheels are one of the first things we changed, but kept them long enough to use at the body shop while the painting was being done - didn't want to risk messing up the GT3 ones you know.
