Default Starter motor won’t come out

hi
my starter motor needs repaired or replaced. I have removed everything necessary including the tuning pipe. The bolts are both removed but the motor won’t budge. This is on a 2006 997.1.
Any suggestions?

Providing you have removed both nuts and anything else interfering with the starter, it should come out. Sometimes the fit is tight and it just needs to wiggle and tilt … to be free from the flange.

Is it possible the starter failed with the pinion gear engaged. If so, maybe the flywheel is binding it. Have someone put the car in neutral and try pushing in the clutch while you try to extract the starter. The battery should be disconnected for this work if it isn't already.
