Default Broken plastic electical connector on PASM damper

While taking apart one of the rear dampers from my 997 C2S (to install lowering springs), in a cruel and freak twist of fate, I broke the plastic electrical connector at the end of the wire that protrudes from the top end of the shock. The broken connection is on the left in the picture (if I indeed attached it properly). Needles to say, I am sick about this - the damper is in otherwise fine condition and I really don't want to spend all the money I may have saved by "DIY" on a new shock. I have reached out to the service folks at Bilstein US in CA to see if they might be able to fix it. (I believe they are the OEM.) In the mean time, does anybody have any good ideas or knowledge about this? Thanks.

No picture. Chances are connector is made by Bilstein.

Never mind. I'm going to take a chance on a low(ish) miles used damper I found. Based on my research, including a discussion with Bilsein USA, there's apparently nothing that can be done about it. Apparently the connection is made of unobtainium.

There are extension cables available. If you can find one it's possible to cut off the connector and solder it onto the damaged shock.
