As said, I don't think new 992 buyers are cross-shopping 997s and doubt that their release will impact 997 values.

I cross shopped the 997.2 vs. used 991.1/2 and came to the conclusion that the 997.2 is the best blend of modern and classic for me.... the 991.x is an incredible car, but I wanted something a little more basic and closer to the older 911s I had before.

By "well optioned" they just mean "checking every single option box", because that's what I did. And yeah, it came out just shy of 200k.

But a reasonable build with all the good stuff and even splurging for exclusive paint comes out around $140k...similar to a 991.2 GTS.

Interesting thread. FWIW, I’m and owner of very low mileage (14k) 997, and the 992 introduction has me thinking it‘s time...
