Default Can a 2008 be a a 997.2 ???

Searches say 997.1 from 2005-2008 and 997.2 from 2008-2012????

I will soon buy. Most that I am after are 2006, but one is a 2008. So wondering if it is worth paying a little more for the 2008.

As far as I know all the 2008 in the US are 997.1. Not sure about the rest of the world.

I like to always buy the end of a model run so 997.1 2008 and 997.2 2011.

For the money the 2008 is a great buy today.

There is a difference between model year and manufacturing date. My 2010 C4S was built in summer of 2009. My wife's 2017 AMG was built in August of 2016.

Yes, there were some 997.2 cars built in 2008, but they were marketed as 2009 models.

997.2s were launched in 2008. There may be some 2008 997.2s around.

Absolutely they are. I've got one of the first ones. They say never buy the first of a model, but it's been a rockstar. 10/10

Porsche uses "launch cars" at the start of the release for a new model and these should be the first ones produced, so if there are some US 2008 997.2s, they would likely have the option code for launch car on the options list.. These cars have specific option packages and colors. There can be differences in the same generation launch car by model type - i.e. the C2S launch car will have different colors and options than the C4S launch car.

Well, I've studied the subtle changes on the body, and the 997.2 tail lights have an upward kink on the lower inner corner.

So the one I am looking at has the same tail lights as a 997.1

thanks .
