QUICK JACK BL-5000SLX 5,000-LB fit?
#16
I would HIGHLY recommend buying direct from QuickJack (which is BendPak). Pelican sold me the wrong one and then gave me a real run-around to make a change. I actually reached out to BendPak and they took care of me. The 5000SLX is what you want for a 997. This is a fantastic product.

Ordered this morning. Can't wait to get it and try it out. It should work fine on my Porsches and Mustang.

I have the 5,000lb capacity version. Works great. I've been using it for two years now. It gets used very frequently, as I do all maintenance and mods myself. I consider it a "must-have" (along with this forum) if you do your own work and don't won't to go the full-lift route.

Same here, Costco Canada also went up $100. On my list.
This Car Lift Challenger SRM10 look good if you have room and find used one around your area.

Get a bottle of soapy water ready to find the leak. Mine failed out of the box. It's going to be about 2 weeks from the time I got it before replacement parts arrive. Not too happy, so I will just leave it at that.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. During the assembly process when I was pressurizing the air cylinders I noticed that one cylinder would bleed air fairly quickly. I mixed up a 50:50 liquid dish soap to water mix, filled the cylinder with air and applied (liberally) the soap solution to the valve and valve stem area. There were no bubbles so I knew that the air valve was not leaking. I then repressurized the air cylinder and reapplied the soap mixture to the area where the chrome rod went into the hydraulic cylinder. A lot of bubbles started coming out. This told me that the air leak was in the hydraulic cylinder (Quickjack uses this information to determine what parts to send you to fix the lift), Upon closer inspection there a two Allen wrench type screw holes on the top of the hydraulic cylinder that screws are screwed into to the hold in the wiper type seal. My lift did not have the screws in there. I found two screws and placed them into the holes, but this did not help with the air leak. QJ is sending me a replacement cylinder set up. They were really nice once they finally called me. I am still a little miffed given the temp is going to drop into the 10's by the time the part gets here. I have a garage, but it is not heated. It looks like I will have to wait till the spring time to do my PM.

Thanks Moxy - great data points. I will look closely at this this weekend when I test my new set up.
