Porsche designers spend months agonizing over design decisions. They went with clear, and I agree. The black ones look like a large bandage.

I like the black. The older air cooled cars used to use them too. Mine have a CF pattern to match the mirrors and I'm planning to strip the silver paint from my CF upper wing too (PO painted it).
