If you are asking about battery tenders I highly recommend the "Deltran Battery Tender". I have used the one that I have for over ten years. I use it to keep expensive lithium motorcycle batteries charged with no harm to the batteries. I use it on my 997.2 full time except for topping off other batteries. It is a small, plug into 115V wall outlet, step down transformer. It shows a red light when charging and a green light comes on when the battery is fully charged. Cheers

Buy a Battery Tender. Get 4 for the price of the Porsche model, or a 3-4 bank Battery Tender unit to charge several in proximity without all the plugs. A 3-4 bank unit will probably run what the Porsche one does.

Ctek MXS 5.0. Best one I've seen.

Look on Suncoast Porsche or Sunset Porsche web sites.

Porsche is just a re-branded CTEK. If you search Rennlist you can probably find the CTEK equivalent of the Porsche model. Here's one of a few different models offered by CTEK:

This. Don’t need to buy an expensive Porsche brand that does nothing more than the trusty Battery Tender.

so like one of those CTEK 7002's just plug it in and leave for winter? should I bother starting my car every now and then and let it warm up to temp or no? and should I disconnect the tender/charger when doing so

some quick and easy Q's for you guys that have done this for years now I guess, I don't want to ruin anything

thanks again

No need to start car until spring. Just leave it on the tender. When putting the car away, make sure to treat leather with generous amount of Lexsol or whatever you use, to keep it from drying out. Also, I put steel wool into the exhaust pipes to keep out mice, and dryer sheets in the interior for the same reason. I also toss some mothballs under the car near each wheel, and a couple in a container in the engine bay. Rodents hate the smell. Don't put them inside the car though, or you'll never get the smell out. Store with a full tank of gas, with Stabil in it, and over-inflate the tires to avoid flat spotting. Don't start car. Once you start it after it has been sitting, you would need to run it up to temp and let it run for awhile to burn off any moisture trapped in the fuel system. Not good to let the car just sit there and idle for 20 or 30 minutes. Just leave it be until you are ready to pull it out.
