Guys, I need help here. I recently installed a lightly used Fabspeed 200 cell sport cats x-pipe on my 06 C2S and I love how it transformed my car. However the CEL came on after about 150 miles, my friend suggested to disconnect the battery so the ECU would re-learn itself. 150 miles or so later it came back on and the code read P0430 again. I'm so bummed with this and have no idea what to do at this point.
Unfortunately, when buying used systems there is no guarantee that it was truly 'lightly used'. In this situation, I would assume that the previous owner has damaged the cats, possibly through the use of race fuel.
I suggest using a borescope to inspect the Cats themselves for deterioration.
Shoot me a PM, I may have some options for you.

Happy to help.

They sat in a sealed cardboard box for approx. 8 months before being sold. I never got a cel while installed on my car.

I have this system on both my 993 3.8l and 997.1 C4S and do get periodic 997.1 CEL and Fabspeed's O2 sensor extension does not fit without cutting some metal behind bumper. Would like solution and why I am posting this on older thread.

Sorry to hear about the periodic CELs, there is no reason that it should happen. Would you mind contacting our Customer Service director so that he may get you in touch with the correct team? Service@Fabspeed.com
I have briefed him on the situation and he is expecting your email!
Cheers

I'm not here to white knight for fabspeed but to offer a suggestion for those throwing the cel based on prior experience with other aftermarket cat systems on other manufacturers cars. Aftermarket cats need to be burnt off. They are sensitive to poor fuels, rich A/F conditions i.e.out of tune, or, "Or" what I've seen mostly is cars and coffee syndrome. People that start their cars, drive it for a short amount of time at low rpm's shut it off then repeat the same thing and park it which inadvertently loads the cat up with unburnt fuel causing the CEL to go on. The fix is easy give it an Italian tune up and never slug these engines, just wait for them to come up to temperature first.
That may or may not help those above, it's just merely a suggestion based on my experience with other hi-po cars. Good luck.

Check engine light with Fabspeed Sport Cats update
Just giving everyone an update on my CEL issue, so the CEL kept coming back after I clear the P0430 code. I couldn't get a straight answer from Fabspeed and obviously there are many limitations to their "Guarantee to have no Check Engine Light" promise. I went ahead and put on O2 sensor spacers and my CEL hasn't come back. Shout out to Jon Swift at Flat 6 Motorsports for the awesome personal service.

We do not warranty or guarantee anything on used systems, it is impossible for us to know the status of a product you buy from an individual. It is entirely up to you as the secondary purchaser to determine if they are in good working order. We were more than happy to have you ship the system to us for inspection and charge you for any necessary repairs (in this case, it clearly would've only been O2 Spacers).
If you would like to take advantage of our Lifetime warranty or CEL guarantee, make sure you purchase directly from us.

My CEL goes off regularly. I typically take to my indy and they clear. Sometimes it clears on its own. I purchased direct from Fabspeed and they're paired with their headers.
