40,000 mile maintenance on 2009 C2S Cab
Hello fellow Rennlisters,
I’m getting ready to take on the 40,000 mile tune-up. Any recommendations other then an oil change, spark plugs and drive belt? What about coil packs? Some have told me I should change the manual transmission oil as well but the maintenance sheet doesn’t call for it until 120,000. I’m all for keeping my ride running like a top but don’t want to spend the $$ if it’s not needed. All advice is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Coil packs will let you know when they fail. No reason to replace good coil packs until it tells you its needed. Rough idle or code will let you know.
I'd run some fuel injector cleaner a tank or two before oil change and have fun.
As for MT fluid, if your not tracking your ride it isnt needed. If shifting is smooth leave it. If a little notchy try a new fluid. Its a simple DYI job.
Air filter check or replace.
Fun weekend DYI.
Enjoy.

swingwing, great tutorial! I also like your reasoning of just adding the Fister mufflers and not going to the center muffler delete. I need to compromise with the sound as I might lose the wife for those Sunday cruises if it’s too loud.
