My 08' cabrio is lowered and the headlights aim too low.
I've already adjusted them up following the instructions in the owners manual, level ground, weight in car at 24.6 ft. using a hex key to the adjustment **** (and actually aimed them up a bit higher than instructed).
The issue is the majority of the light output does not adjust up with this ****. Hard to explain but there is like a primary level of light and a secondary level of light which is what the headlight adjustment cutoff adjusts (not talking high beams here).
So I made the adjustment up but there is very little light outside of the primary lit area, which doesn't adjust and only extends like 30' in front of the car.
Does your car have the Xenon headlights that auto-level? You can test this by key out, turn the headlight switch all the way on, then insert the key and rotate it to the full accessory position (position before the starter engages). This will force the headlights through their auto-leveling protocol. If they end up in exactly the same place, that's where the car thinks they should be. The auto level height position is controlled by 2 sensors under the car that are part of the Lower Control Arms - there is one in the front and one in the rear. To change the relationship to what they think is level you'll have to play with one of them until you get the lights where you want them. They are plastic and not really adjustable though, so you may have to fabricate a metal version that allows you to twist it into the right position. When I did the suspension upgrade on my car, the LCAs didn't come with this Litronic bracket.
In these photos you can see the one on the stock LCA and the one I fabricated.
It's also possible that this can be calibrated with a Durametric tool or similar. Since I had to make a bracket anyway, I just did the adjustment by altering the position of the bracket.
Thanks, its a Turbo so yes xenon.
When I did the springs I also did rear toe links, so I wonder if something happened there.
It's possible, but the arms that connect to the sensors are on the LCAs, so see if they look like they're still intact. If the car was dropped on the springs evenly, the lighting pattern shouldn't really have changed all that much.
