Default Key repair

Picture attached. The lock/unlock button fell off somewhere on one of my keys. Does anyone know if that button alone can be bought somewhere and re-installed or do I have to buy a whole new head? That's all I've been able to find. $185 at Suncoast.

Default Ebay is your friend

Whole new fob is $17 on eBay. The lock/unlock button can be taken from the new fob and transferred to the old fob.

Awesome. I think Ebay was about the only place I didn't search for some reason. Many thanks.

I concur with Bigmikee, had the same problem, purchased one on e-bay and switched out the parts needed to repair original fob, works perfect !

Since you have a 997.2, just the button swap should do. If you had the 997.1 key, I would've suggested a full transplant.
The .1 keyfob sucks big time, especially the lock/unlock button. I did the swap with a cheap knockoff fob and still it was much better than before

This reminds me of the power button on my dish washer. Last week went to start a load of dishes and noticed the darn button was missing. Looked like your keyfob. Just a white panel and no button. Stuck out like a sore thumb. I'm like crap, where did that blasted thing go?!! I would have to order an entire front panel for as much as the darn 12 year old washer is worth or just suck it up and use it as is. I decided to use it as is and not replace it. Then later that afternoon I was cleaning up the living room and looked down... guess what? There sat that stinkin' button! ha! I ended up super gluing it back on the washer.

I blamed it on my little dog. She did look guilty.

Good ending with the dishwasher. I don't have a dog so I have to blame my wife since the key with the lost part was on her key chain. Not a big deal but having two fully functioning keys seems to be important to a lot of buyers if you're thinking resale. That's the only reason I'm even bothering with this.
