Default Bilstein B12 Kit

Wondering if anyone has installed the Bilstein B12 kit on their 997? I have a base (non PASM) .2 and I'm considering this kit which includes B8 dampers (optimized for lowering springs) and springs. Speaking with Bilstein, they recommended this over the B6/Eibach setup and confirmed that B8 firmness is the same as the B6.

Primarily concerned with adversely affecting my current ride quality.

Thx,

Rob

I've had the B12 kit installed on my 997.1 base. I chose this over B6 since B8 is meant for cars with lowering springs (slightly shorter).
B12 is basically B8 shocks/struts + Eiback Pro Kit springs.
I'm quite happy with the results (mainly because the previous setup in the car was way worse and the shocks/struts were shot).

If you are ordering from Bilstein, there's quite a bit of a backlog (or at least there was in early Summer).
You can just get the B8 dampers and Eibach springs separately => cost vs delivery time.

Thanks
Shyam

thank you, that's my understanding of the components as well.

How is the ride quality? Also, I assume the same springs as the Eibach pro kit?

There is a lot of positive feedback in our forum for Eibach springs. They are progressive springs, so you might have a better ride quality over bumps.
However, when you corner hard, the spring is compressed more and gets stiffer then => so that's good for track time as well I guess.
In my case, my car's setup when I bought it was stock shocks/struts that were shot and H&R springs that had sagged and bottomed out (~80k miles on them).
I couldn't even see the top of my front tires (stock lobster forks wheels) and I was desperate to have it fixed.
By no means is the ride "soft" or "comforting", but it's nowhere near harsh as well. I quite like it
This setup doesn't lower the car too much, so you won't scrape the bumper a lot.

Here are a few threads with feedback on the springs:

I have checked and now this kit in usd 2900 while a set of KW V3 are usd 3200, isn´t better to go for the coilovers with adjustability in compression and rebound?

Where did you check? it’s been 3 years, even then the prices haven’t doubled for the b12 kit.
$1418 and in stock on fcpeuro.

Coilover vs fixed setup depends on your use case. Unless you switch configuration frequently for track/auto cross and street, I wouldn’t spend 2x money. In fact, for just a bit more you can source PASM shocks/struts, pair them with eibach springs and get the DSC sport stand-alone kit 😊 Of course it’s a bit more intense installation but you get your instant configurability

I've got the B12 kit on my 2010 997.2 (non-PASM).

Not too much different than stock at low speeds, it's a little bit stiffer.

At higher speeds, major difference, more stable and stiff but not too stiff.

Lookswise, the lower stance is perfect. Doesn't scrape much, only sometimes.

I'm happy with the kit.

Do these feel like stock? I had coilovers on a car once and HATED it.
