Default Smog and OBD not ready.

Hi, i'm due for smog on my 997 3.8, last month i changed the battery so that resets the obd, i went for a 200 mile drive and still it says catalyst not ready. i've read some posts and tried the procedure but still can't get it in ready status. any suggestions would help.

I'm assuming when you say "procedure" you mean the drive cycle (search drive cycle to get more info). I've been able to set all my monitors to ready by following the specific steps in the drive cycle - it's a pain but it does work. You need to map out your course and pick a time when traffic won't cause an interruption. Buy an inexpensive OBD reader too if you haven't already, Good luck.

Here is a link to a discussion on this topic from a few years ago. Hopefully, you’ll find some helpful information in it. Best of luck.

Thanks, early this morning , I took it on the fwy, after letting it warm up with a full tank of gas, drive around 57mph keeping it under 3k rpm for about 12 to 15 miles and it reset. So the issue is solved.
