Default Replacing Struts--Consumables?

Will be replacing struts soon and am about to order parts. As with any job, there are occasionally ancillary parts that can't or shouldn't be re-used. For example, I just did the struts on my son's Avalon and that car uses a bearing in the top front strut mount that should be replaced when the struts are replaced and it's always a good idea to replace the rubber spring pads--or, for another example, when doing a brake job on a 997.2, the caliper mounting bolts should be replaced because they are meant to stretch when torqued.

With front and rear strut/shock replacement on a 997.2, what are the ancillary parts that should be replaced along with the struts, if any? Any bolts, bearings, bushings, pads, etc.?

There are definitely a few parts worth replacing at the same time.
I put a list with part numbers in my thread here. Hope it helps:

EMC2, that's just about the most comprehensive and helpful answer I could hope for. Thank you very much for the link to your older thread.

Just as a follow-up, where did you get your parts? I have found the best prices on the springs and shocks at Tire Rack, but the shock mounts and other items will have to come from somewhere else.

Thanks again!

I never replaced the strut bearings in my fronts... I just disassembled them (they kind of fall apart IIRC) and re-applied quality lithium grease. But if you like to replace stuff, go ahead. I never heard of these wearing out but the rubber parts can squeak/creak when you turn your wheels if not lubricated.

Peace

I recently bought new front strut mounts, bearings and the other bearing plate or holder or whatever it's called. All OEM parts, but sourced from AutohausAZ. Factoring in shipping, it was the cheapest option for those parts. I also checked ECS, eEuroparts and Suncoast. Mind you, I have a 997.1 C4S, so the front strut mounts are different from 2wd only.

In retrospect, I wish I had done this last year when I installed Eibach springs. Now I'm facing half the job again, and alignment again too. Reason for the parts is that I started getting low speed clicking noises when turning.

Thanks for the response. I'll reach out to them and get a price on those items.

And yes, I have wavered back and forth on just how much of this I want to do at one time. I'm leaning towards doing the whole lot (struts, springs, LCAs) just because I don't want to have to take it apart more than once.
