Default Ignition Switch - not

In 07 C2S I would turn the ignition key and nothing would happen. Scary. Finally, back forth a few times, pushing really hard on clutch pedal, it would start quickly like nothing wrong. I figured it was the ignition switch so I ordered a new one. I was also prepared to by-pass the clutch interlock switch. But in the mean time, I bought a new battery. I wasn't sure how old it was and I wanted to eliminate a variable.

Sure enough, it must have been the battery. Have had no trouble since. When you read here that low batteries cause electrical gremlins, believe it. Will install the new ignition switch anyway since I have it and it's easy.

If the issue returns and you're diagnosing the clutch interlock switch, make sure you're working with the correct one. The low, easy to access one that's on the pedal is not the one that is involved with the car starting when the clutch is depressed. That one is more tucked away.
