I was messing around with PIWIS one time and disabled sport mode on my 997.1 C2S. It wanted a code specific to my VIN to reenable it, presumably to prevent the average mechanic for enabling features not part of the original build from the factory. It required online access with a valid subscription to get the code - something I did not have with my valid but older offline only version of PIWIS. So a trip to the dealer was needed.
While there I had a printout from my service advisor with all the PIWIS codes tied to my VIN, things like sport mode, navigation, remotes, etc. But prior to leaving his manager would not let me keep it arguing Porsche policy. I tried to counter argue with "these codes are attached to my VIN and only mine" but he wouldn't budge. I regret no taking a photo of the codes before the manager got involved.
