The main issue about being "one bar" over filled (which is only about 350ml......or <3.5%) is that you don't really know if you are 1 bar over or 100 bars over. The guage stops reporting the data.

That isn't so with the the .2, IDK how the .1 works.... If you "really" over fill, the thing blinks at you. Of course we don;'t know exactly what that is, but in car parlance.... blinking anything is not too good. EDIT: I just checked my manual it DOES NOT denote blinking for overfill... I am wrong. It does blink for underfill. But, I don't want to change what I wrote because I am really sure someone experienced this..... anyone remember?

Good point about the AOS.... where is the vaccume uptake port in relation to the oil line? Does anyone know how much oil you need to overfill to have this suckage happen?

Peace

Always better to be a bar low ... thermal expansion and all.

Good advice from all that suggested removing the filter and dumping the oil from it.

For the 997.2 you will get a message on your information screen ( Check Oil) if you are over-filled or under-filled. Not sure if the 997.1 reports over-filled.
