Condolences to his friends and family.
Looking at the photos the damage certainly looks like some high speed driving was underway. Judging from the price of the car, I assume it was 911. How often do you see a boxer engine ejected from the chassis in accidents at normal speeds?
Save the 140+ mph driving for the track! That being said, how did LEOs know he was going 148mph? Are there radar cameras in NC? Were LEOs chasing him?

I live fairly close by. Wade Ave certainly isn't the place for high speed runs, even if you were going to be doing such an inadvisable thing. Just glad he didn't hurt anyone else while jackassing around. I don't believe there is a sharp enough turn anywhere there where the car couldn't make the curve at 150mph. Possibly just a steering correction that didn't account for the speed in question.

Yep, no reason to be judgmental. We have all had our momentary lapses and taken unnecessary risks. Condolences to his family. Heartbreaking for the young children.
