Likely same outcome if lose it at 90 or lose it at 148. 991 GTS or Turbo is so quick it is just a momentarily lapse if you keep your foot in it. These cars are also so stable and get to speed so quickly, they can inspire a false sense of confidence. It happens and will continue to happen and I would dare say a very large percentage of the people on here have hit 120s.

If you are speaking of my friend, Roger Rodas and Paul Walker, STH up because chances are very great you haven’t a clue as to what you are talking about. What kind of moron thinks they make or had winter tires for a CGT and that winter tires were delivered new on CGTs? They didn’t on mine or on Graham Rahal’s that Roger had just purchased either. Both of those guys forgot more about cars than you’ll ever know and Roger was actually a great driver and a very conservative, responsible guy. Your sources are just as dumb if they say 11 years.

Regardless of who was driving doing 100 mph in the city, esp in a car like a CGT, was irresponsible.
The father of the gal I'm dating owned a CGT and sold it last year because it was "scary".

I just want to know why someone would neglect to put new tires on a $500,000 car.

He had just purchased the car that week and it had 3,500 miles. Paul had never been in one and asked for a quick ride.
I can drive that curve at 90 (not 100) in Prius and steering one handed, drinking coffee in the other in a CGT. That road was completely vacant at that time in an Industrial park/section . . . not busy city streets.
Your girlfriend's father obviously has no car control skills. The car can easily be driven in a non-scary fashion and is not inherently dangerous. That comment makes zero sense unless has no self restraint to go along with lack of car control skills.
Time and time again, internet popular opinion proves to be ignorant and misinformed. No different than what I saw above right out of the gate.

In the video from the TV station you can see the rear bumper skin. The wheel style too. They can read the ECU data to see if the brakes were applied or he was on the throttle anc the steering inputs. The caliper is Red so its an S.

I had noted he was my friend earlier hoping that the gossiping rubbing necking brigade would back off and have some respect. Obviously, that is too much to expect for forum types.

Coming from relatively normal cars (American stuff, Porsche 930, etc.) to a CGT was prob a jump for him. Even Jay Leno lost it in his Carrera GT albeit on a track...
